Sir Ian McGeechan has backed Warren Gatland to coach the British and Irish Lions again in 2017.
In four years time the team will travel to New Zealand as they look to win consecutive tours for the first time since 1974.
And the man who was head coach for their series win in South Africa 16 years ago reckons that, following their impressive triumph over Australia, keeping Gatland in charge will give the Lions the best chance of victory.
?I think he must be in the mix again,? McGeechan told the Weekend Sports Breakfast.
?Obviously they?ll take a bit of time to get over this. A Lions tour does take a lot out of you but there is certainly a lot of continuity to come out of that group.
?For the Lions to keep moving forward I think that continuity of thinking and personnel is actually very important.
?I would be disappointed if he didn?t manage them from now through to four years time.?
